Bible passage

Teacher Video

Hi boys and girls! Welcome to our online Sunday School!

In the beginning of creation there was God as, God the Father the just and awesome One, God the Son - Jesus and God the Holy Spirit. They were at work together.

Jesus the Son was close to the Father - close to the heart of the Father. They couldn't be separated.

Of all His creations God loved mankind very much, but when man disobeyed the relationship between God and His people was broken. God had  planned to send Jesus to die in our place to make us His children again. There was no other way.

Now turn your Bibles to Mark 15:12 to 47.

As Jesus was exhausted, due to the trials, having been beaten, whipped, bleeding, wounded the Roman soldiers forced Simon of Cyrene to carry the cross for Jesus.

When they came to Golgotha, the place of the skull, the soldiers nailed Jesus to the cross it was 9 o'clock in the morning. They took his clothes and gambled for them.

Thus, the sin of the whole world was laid upon Him. He had willingly agreed to this cruel punishment with all the pain, no one to support Him. Even His close disciples left Him. People were laughing and making fun of Him and saying rude things like, 'come down from the cross, do a miracle and we will believe'. Suddenly at 12 noon it became dark as though the Sun couldn't bear to see its Creator - God suffering.

And there was darkness...

You see, Jesus  had never ever sinned but He took your sin and my sin upon Him.

Now look at verse 34. Then the worst thing  happened. God the Just One had to punish Jesus for the sins of the whole world. The Father also forsook Him. It was so painful that Jesus cried out loudly, saying my God, my God why have you forsaken me.

Jesus successfully finished the work of salvation, then, He died on the cross. He made the way for us to go into the presence of God. Even the Roman centurion came to believe He was God.

Then Joseph of Arimathea took the body of Jesus and buried him.

But that's not the end of Jesus, He rose again on the third day. He is alive. He wants to be your Saviour and Lord. Will you say, 'Lord Jesus, I believe you alone died for my sins please forgive me, cleanse me and make me your child.

Trace a child’s hand on a paper. Flip the paper around so that the thumb is the “head” of the sheep and the fingers are the legs.

Allow the child to color or decorate as desired. Glue on cotton balls to make wool. Allow the sheep to dry.

Ask them to write John 1:29b – “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!” below the card.
