Here is a good news – you have won the first place in the running race conducted in your school!
What would you do if get to know about your victory? Yes, tell people about it. You will share this joy with everyone around you and probably call up your friends and family members on phone and tell them too!
Like you all, Moses too was given a good news to talk about, that God will rescue Israelites from Egypt. We have learnt and heard about Moses’ journey – the burning bush, talking to Pharaoh, leading Israelites out of Egypt, praying for the Israelites’ needs and so many more. But do you know, Moses was not sure of his abilities and if people in Egypt would even believe him? He told God that he was not a good speaker. Moses made excuses from what God asked him to do. He was scared because he thought he was not capable of taking such great responsibility of freeing the Israelites from Pharaoh. Though Moses was scared and doubtful, he was always obedient to God.
God knew Moses’ fears and doubts. Therefore, God patiently answered all his questions at the burning bush and told him ‘Now go; I will help you speak and I will teach you what to say’ (Exodus 4:12). This tells us that at times some things might seem difficult to us but we need to place our trust in God and be obedient to Him. Just like how we follow our parents’ words though we do not understand them completely. We obey our parents because we trust them and know that they will never harm us. In the same way, we need to trust God and be obedient to Him.
So, what is it that God wants us to do? What is the good news for us today?
The good news is that Jesus came to earth, He was crucified for our wrongdoings and rose to life again for all of us. Yes, Jesus lives!
Let us not be hesitant or fearful to talk about what Jesus has done for us. The fact that God sent His only Son, Jesus, for us shows how much God loves us. Let us be JOYFUL that God loves us and be SURE to tell others that God loves them too! Remember, God sent Jesus for the WHOLE WORLD and not just for people who go to church.
